Hi! I’m Mario from Tokyo!

Well not that Nintendo Mario character but I have mustaches (and beard) too. My name is Mariusz Kozieł. I’m living in Tokyo but originally I’m from a small town from Poland called Będzin where I lived for almost 30 years.

My passion for editing starts when my uncle showed me his editing work on Amiga 1200 computer. I used to edit lots of different music videos and trailers as a hobby but I didn’t have any background for filmmaking. After 11 years of pursuing my carrier as a chief electrical engineer, I decided to move to the UK where I studied English at Leeds University.

I found the love of my life in there and she encourages me to pursue my dream to become a video editor and cinematographer. We moved to Tokyo together almost three years ago and since then I manage to work with lots of different companies supporting their projects on various different levels.

From Video editor, director of photography and cameraman through director to reporter, show participant and even an extra. Until now I worked with NHK, TV Tokyo, CNN, Polish Radio 1 and many YouTubers and short movie producers.

Also, I’m creating videos for my own YouTube channel JapolTVじゃポル with my wife Kanae about Tokyo lifestyle and my own experiences. Today I sit here writing this About Me and preparing for another project where I can learn, create and share my journey with you.
